Fans of the beloved blue canine rejoice as thrilling news hits the scene. A cinematic rendition of the cherished children's animation "Bluey" is destined for the big screen. The revelation surfaced on Tuesday via social media, with notable mentions of BBC Studios, Disney, Disney+, and ABC.

Joe Brumm, the mastermind behind the series, shared a heartfelt letter on the show's website, revealing tidings both joyous and challenging. "Let's commence with the delightful news—after a hiatus from the series to immerse in another endeavor, an old concept reemerged. Before long, I found myself penning a Bluey feature script that I truly adore," he expressed. "Fast forward through a multitude of contractual matters, and we're on the cusp of creating an animated Bluey movie!"

The challenging aspect, he confided, involves his choice to step back from the television endeavor. "I've always maintained that I wouldn't continue the show if I felt a new season couldn't rival the last," Brumm wrote. "This sentiment held true for a prospective season four, prompting me to pause my involvement with the TV series. Should I be unable to envision further seasons, 'The Sign' will serve as my television finale for Bluey, and I crafted it with that intent."

In a press statement concerning the film, he shared his enthusiasm. "I thoroughly relished working with a more extensive format on 'The Sign' in Series 3, so venturing further with a feature film seems a natural progression," Brumm remarked. "I've always believed 'Bluey' merited a theatrical movie. I aim for this to be an immersive experience for families to enjoy together."

The film will feature voice talents from the series, including Melanie Zanetti and David McCormack, alongside musical compositions by "Bluey" composer Joff Bush. Scheduled for a 2027 theatrical release, the project will subsequently be available on ABC iview and ABC Kids in Australia.
