Danielle Fishel has provided a health update. The "Boy Meets World" actress disclosed on her "Pod Meets World" podcast that she has concluded "active cancer treatment," following her August revelation of a DCIS diagnosis, known as ductal carcinoma in situ, a breast cancer variant.

"I'm officially finished with radiation, marking the end of active cancer treatment," Fishel, 43, declared to her co-hosts, Will Friedle and Rider Strong, who are also her "Boy Meets World" colleagues. She mentioned that her treatment regimen excluded surgeries or chemotherapy, relying solely on radiation. Moving forward, she will begin Tamoxifen, a drug that aids in minimizing breast cancer recurrence risks, per the National Cancer Institute.

Fishel underwent 15 sessions of "whole breast radiation" and five of targeted radiation, which she described as "relatively simple." However, she now experiences physical effects like a "severe sunburn," an itchy rash, sleep disturbances, and profound fatigue. "Living is painful at the moment, but it won't last forever," she remarked, noting her doctors assure her of improvement in two to three months.

Her medical team also recommended exercise and hydration to expedite recovery, as these actions assist in mitigating radiation's impact. Fishel gained fame as Topanga Lawrence on the hit '90s series "Boy Meets World" alongside Ben Savage and co-hosts Friedle and Strong. She reprised this role in "Girl Meets World," which aired from 2014 to 2017. Fishel is wed to producer Jensen Karp and is a mother of two.

In August, she disclosed her condition on her podcast, stating she was diagnosed with high-grade DCIS with micro-invasion. Breastcancer.org explains DCIS as the earliest stage of breast cancer. While not life-threatening, a DCIS diagnosis increases the likelihood of developing invasive breast cancer in the future.
