Denzel Washington reveals his role in 'Black Panther 3,' marking one of his final performances before retirement.
The awards season is abuzz with talk of Denzel Washington's performance in "Gladiator II," yet his gaze is set on more distant horizons. In a conversation with Australia's "Today" show, Washington delved into his illustrious career and forthcoming ventures.
The celebrated actor, a recipient of multiple Oscar accolades, now selects projects based on the director's prowess. He expressed a keen desire to collaborate exclusively with the crème de la crème of filmmakers.
"I'm uncertain about how many more films I'll undertake," remarked Washington, who is 69. "Probably not a plethora. I yearn to explore uncharted territories."
Washington also unveiled his impending Broadway stint as Othello in Shakespeare's iconic play, revisiting a role he first embraced at 22.
"Following that, I'll be portraying Hannibal. Conversations are underway with Steve McQueen about a film," he disclosed. "Then, Ryan Coogler is crafting a role for me in the upcoming Black Panther installment."
Marvel has yet to officially confirm a third installment in the "Black Panther" series.
Washington further revealed his intentions to headline a cinematic rendition of "Othello," along with "King Lear," before ultimately hanging up his acting boots.
