Jake E. Lee, ex-guitarist of Ozzy Osbourne, anticipated to 'completely recover' following being shot 'several times'
Renowned rock guitarist Jake E. Lee, known for his stint with metal icon Ozzy Osbourne, was admitted to a Las Vegas hospital early Tuesday following a shooting incident, a representative informed CNN. Lee sustained "multiple gunshot wounds" but remains conscious and is reportedly recuperating well in the intensive care unit. A complete recovery is anticipated.
The incident took place while Lee was out walking his canine companion, with authorities deeming it a "random" act of violence. Las Vegas Metro Police Department's statement detailed that officers were dispatched around 2:42 a.m. to the 11000 block of Alora Street in response to the shooting.
Upon arrival, officers discovered a male victim with evident gunshot injuries and promptly transported him to the hospital. The investigation remains active, with no apprehensions reported at this juncture.
At 67, Lee boasts a rich history in rock music, having played alongside Osbourne during the 1980s. He later established the heavy metal band Badlands, collaborating with former Black Sabbath members Ray Gillen and Eric Singer. In 2013, he launched his own band, Red Dragon Cartel.
