Lisa Kudrow admits it was ‘challenging’ to maintain real friendships with the ‘Friends’ cast
The ensemble of "Friends" is renowned for their camaraderie, though it was cultivated over time. During her guest spot on Dax Shepard's "Armchair Expert" podcast, Lisa Kudrow, a star of "Friends," divulged that the "six-way relationship" among cast members Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Matt LeBlanc, David Schwimmer, the late Matthew Perry, and herself "required effort."
Communication, she explained, was the cornerstone. If a comment or action arose, it didn't escalate because they would simply ask, "Can I talk to you?" Kudrow admitted she initially found this candid communication challenging. She had to learn to say, "Can I talk to you about something?"
Kudrow credited some cast members with exemplifying this openness more adeptly. "I observed Courtney, Jennifer, and Matt doing it exceptionally well," she noted.
The iconic NBC show spanned a decade from 1994 to 2004, during which the cast forged a deep bond, Kudrow remarked. Perry's untimely passing in 2023, due to drowning at home following the acute effects of ketamine, left them heartbroken.
"We were more than just colleagues. We are family," the remaining cast members expressed in a unified statement after Perry's demise.
On the podcast, Kudrow, who has since starred in various ventures including the Netflix series "No Good Deed," expressed no annoyance at the constant discussions about "Friends." "It's a blessing," she remarked. "I am profoundly grateful.
