Max George has candidly revealed a medical concern that will see him remain in the hospital throughout the festive season. Formerly of the Britpop ensemble The Wanted, George has been admitted due to a cardiac issue. Recently, he imparted via Instagram Story that a problem resides in the lower region of his heart, termed a block.

"Further tests are needed to ascertain its origin," he noted. "We've eliminated certain factors, like alcohol. I haven't imbibed in over four years, so that's not the culprit. It's quite puzzling."

A pacemaker might be necessary for George—a compact, battery-operated apparatus that regulates the heart's rhythm, preventing it from decelerating excessively, as explained by the Mayo Clinic.

CNN has sought comments from George's spokesperson. Last week, George disclosed on Instagram that his hospital visit was prompted by feeling "exceptionally unwell."

"Tests have revealed heart complications," he mentioned on Thursday. "Numerous examinations await to gauge the severity and the potential surgical interventions required to restore my health."

He acknowledged that the forthcoming weeks or months would be challenging, with Christmas spent in the hospital. "This unexpected blow is undoubtedly daunting, yet I'll face it with determination! I'm fortunate it was identified in time," he expressed.

Despite the health hurdle, George seemed upbeat on Sunday, preparing to enjoy the Manchester City vs. Manchester United football match. "I'm all set for the game," he remarked in an Instagram story clip, showcasing a photo of himself beaming in his team's jersey from his hospital bed.
