Nicole Scherzinger played a pivotal role in the ascent of Liam Payne's career and now she honors his memory. Payne tragically passed away after a fall from a hotel’s third floor in Buenos Aires, Argentina, at the age of 31. One Direction, the band that catapulted him to fame, originated on the UK reality show “The X Factor,” where Scherzinger served as a judge.

On Thursday, she expressed her emotions publicly, stating, “Dear Liam, I will always hold dear the moments we shared, from the birth of One Direction fifteen years ago to just a few weeks past.” She continued, “Working with you recently was a gift. Our shared love and fervor for music will always stay with me, along with the sincere and joyous discussions we had.”

Scherzinger confessed the difficulty in accepting his absence, yet she is thankful for having known his gentle spirit and noble character. “You brought immense joy, light, and laughter to those who truly knew you,” she concluded. “Missing you, my friend, I will keep you in my heart. My thoughts and prayers extend to your family.”

Currently, Scherzinger, who previously shone with the Pussycat Dolls, stars in “Sunset Blvd.” on Broadway, featuring the works of the esteemed Andrew Lloyd Webber. Webber remarked to Billboard about Scherzinger learning of Payne's demise. “On the day he passed, she was still exchanging messages with him. That evening, despite receiving the news, she performed as the reviewers attended ‘Sunset’. Her resilience is remarkable. She is undeniably one of the most exceptional performers I’ve collaborated with.”

CNN has sought confirmation or comments from Scherzinger’s representatives.
