Before she ascended to platinum-selling fame, Latto was a contender on the reality show "The Rap Game." Now, she's back in the spotlight, this time as a judge on Netflix's hip-hop competition series, "Rhythm + Flow." "Being on this side of the table was exhilarating," Latto shared with CNN. "Initially, nerves hit me hard. I remember standing in their shoes. The pressure is immense when you're under the spotlight. I worried I'd be too lenient."

Viewers can judge her toughness themselves as Netflix unveils the second season of the show, featuring Latto alongside fellow artist Ludacris and the renowned DJ Khaled as judges. Participants craft fresh tracks, duel in lyrical battles, and perform with hopes of bagging $250,000. They also rub shoulders with industry titans. Despite the fierce rivalry, camaraderie blossomed among many contestants.

"It's a bond only we can fathom," contestant Jaxs remarked. "No one else truly grasps this journey but us." Rhome, another contender, praised the production crew for their unwavering support. "The best part about 'Rhythm + Flow' and Netflix is their authenticity," he said. "They genuinely aimed to spotlight our talent and personal stories."

This included recounting poignant backstories like that of Detroit Diamond, who turned to rap following personal tragedy. She expressed joy about competing alongside other gifted women. "Meeting these women, I expected talent. They've come this far, so they can rap," she told CNN. "But witnessing their performances and personalities, I knew the future of rap is in capable hands."

Atlanta's rich hip-hop heritage plays a pivotal role in the show. Ludacris emphasized the city's diverse creative scene. "Atlanta is a cultural crucible, a place where varied styles and self-expression thrive," he stated. DJ Khaled joined the show with hopes of discovering groundbreaking talent. "I'm searching for the next game-changer," he said. "I recall my first time hearing Outkast, UGK, Jay-Z, Luda. Those moments stick out."

"Luda was a revelation," Khaled continued, highlighting Ludacris's standout cadence and visual flair. "It's not just because he's here, but he exemplifies innovation. I seek artists who bring something fresh, amidst the overflow of new music, which is truly a blessing." The second season of "Rhythm + Flow" is now streaming on Netflix.
