Sandra Bullock and Keanu Reeves Celebrate 'Speed' Anniversary with Reunion Screening
Keanu Reeves and Sandra Bullock gathered once more to commemorate the 30th anniversary of their iconic film on Tuesday. The duo attended a "Speed" screening at Beyond Fest in Los Angeles, held at the Egyptian Theatre under the aegis of American Cinematheque. They were joined onstage by Jan de Bont, the film's director, to reminisce about their experiences during the creation of this cherished classic. Released in 1994, the movie stars Reeves as Officer Jack Traven and Bullock as Annie Porter, who are aboard a bus rigged to explode if its speed drops too low. De Bont revealed that 11 buses were employed during the shoot, prompting Reeves to humorously comment on the plethora of cameras mounted on the vehicles. "I once counted 22 cameras at the front," Reeves remarked in a clip shared online. "There were like 22 cameras in front of us. One just for Sandra's hand. Another for when I turned." The original's success birthed a sequel, and earlier this year, Reeves and Bullock graced the podcast "50 MPH" together. The two expressed openness to reuniting for a potential "Speed 3." "I mean, you know—we'd absolutely knock it out of the park," Reeves enthused on the podcast.
