Timothée Chalamet to Host and Perform as Musical Guest on Upcoming 'SNL' Episode
The iconic show "Saturday Night Live" is launching its 50th season with a pair of fresh episodes in January, featuring the distinguished Oscar nominee Timothée Chalamet as both host and musical guest. The legendary NBC sketch comedy show revealed on Friday that Chalamet will take on the dual role for the episode airing January 25th, while comedian Dave Chappelle will host the January 18th show, with musical accompaniment by the artist GloRilla.
In his latest cinematic endeavor, Chalamet stars in "A Complete Unknown," portraying a youthful Bob Dylan and delivering renditions of Dylan's timeless classics. The "Dune" actor is generating significant Oscar chatter for the musical film, which dramatizes Dylan's groundbreaking 1965 Newport Music Festival performance where he famously electrified the audience with an electric guitar.
The film also features Elle Fanning and Edward Norton, who are likewise receiving accolades this awards season. Chalamet, an Academy Award nominee for his role in 2018's "Call Me By Your Name," has previously hosted "Saturday Night Live" on two occasions, in December 2020 and November 2023, and made a cameo in April 2021. His likeness has often been humorously portrayed on "SNL," particularly by the talented Chloe Fineman.
