Tom Holland offers a glimpse into his relationship with Zendaya and their Christmas plans
Tom Holland, the Marvel sensation, recently shared insights into his relationship with fellow thespians, Zendaya, exclaiming she is the “finest thing that’s ever graced my life.”. During an extensive dialogue on the “Dish” podcast, released on Wednesday, Holland disclosed the couple’s plans to celebrate Christmas together this year, alongside Zendaya’s kin.
“I’ll be in the States this year, spending time with my girlfriend’s family, which promises to be delightful. Our exact location remains a secret,” he confided to hosts Nick Grimshaw and Angela Hartnett. “Our aspiration is to eventually gather both families together for the holidays, rather than alternating each year. That’s our future vision,” he elaborated.
“Currently, as actors, we’re notorious for our lack of organizational skills. So, it hasn’t materialized yet. The intention is there. The seed has been planted,” he mused. As he unfolded his festive plans and reflected on his culinary prowess, Holland admitted to exploring vegetarian cuisine, inspired by Zendaya’s dietary choices. “I’ve been residing in Boston recently, and with her working, I’ve been orchestrating many dinners. Admittedly, some were less than stellar, leading to a few ‘let’s just order in’ evenings,” he remarked.
“I do concoct a delectable chilli con carne, but I’ve transitioned to making chilli con lentils. Surprisingly, it’s quite palatable,” he added. The duo, who crossed paths while filming “Spider-Man: Homecoming,” have largely shielded their romance from the public eye, despite their soaring fame, only occasionally offering glimpses through interviews or social media.
Navigating their shared celebrity status is “where Zendaya and I have forged a robust bond… through the ability to empathize with one another on something profoundly singular,” Holland noted.
Reflecting on the perks of sharing the screen, Holland described it as a “saving grace” to have each other, adding: “Best thing that’s ever happened to me.”. “It’s those perfect moments on set when a director gives a note that might not sit well, or I know she isn’t fond of, and we just exchange that knowing glance, thinking, ‘can’t wait to discuss that later,’” the British actor recounted.
Practically speaking, their collaboration also proves economically savvy. “Studios appreciate it—one hotel room,” Holland joked. Following their trio of “Spider-Man” films, the couple is set to star in Christopher Nolan’s forthcoming endeavor.
“It hasn’t commenced filming. To be candid, I’m in the dark about it,” Holland confessed. “Everything is shrouded in secrecy. I met with him, and it was remarkable. He vaguely outlined the concept. I trust that when he’s prepared, he’ll unveil the details.
