Trump Appoints Jon Voight, Mel Gibson, and Sylvester Stallone as 'Special Ambassadors' to Hollywood

On Thursday, President-elect Donald Trump declared that actors Jon Voight, Mel Gibson, and Sylvester Stallone would act as "Special Ambassadors" to Hollywood, California. "These individuals will serve as my Special Envoys, aiming to restore Hollywood, which has seen its business diminish over the past four years, BACK—BIGGER, BETTER, AND STRONGER THAN EVER BEFORE!" Trump proclaimed in a Truth Social post.
Voight, a steadfast Trump ally, supported his initial presidential campaign in 2016. In recognition of his support, Trump honored Voight with the National Medal of Arts in 2019. Gibson, in an interview with TMZ in October 2024, threw his support behind Trump while disparaging Vice President Kamala Harris' intellect. Recently, he has propagated conspiracy theories about the California wildfires on Fox News, following the destruction of his home by fire.
Stallone lent his endorsement to Trump towards the end of the 2024 campaign, introducing the president-elect at the America First Policy Institute Gala in November. He lauded Trump as "the second George Washington" and "a truly mythical character."
In his Thursday post, Trump stated, "These three exceptionally gifted individuals will serve as my eyes and ears, and I will execute their suggestions. Hollywood will once again mirror the grandeur of The United States of America itself, ushering in a new Golden Age!"
