Tyra Banks stands among the multitude in Los Angeles who've faced the relentless wildfires ravaging the vicinity, yet she expresses gratitude that a majority of her prized possessions survived the inferno. Residing now in Sydney, Australia, alongside her partner, businessman Louis Bélanger-Martin, Banks broke her silence regarding the loss of her LA residence during a Sunday appearance on the Australian morning show “Sunrise on 7.”

“Yes, I lost my house,” Banks revealed. “I haven’t really talked about it.” The renowned supermodel and erstwhile host of “America’s Next Top Model” recounted being in Australia at a friend’s abode, indulging in festivities, when she received the distressing news about the wildfires and her home. Initially, she said, “I just kept checking my phone, not for my house but just for friends and family, making sure they’re evacuating and everything.”

She recalled asking her partner, “‘I’m seeing something here, what do you think?’” Banks illustrated her partner's nod, indicating their property's peril. “I just pulled it together and didn’t say anything to my friends and stayed in the moment, and we went home and we cried and we had our moment.”

Though they lost their LA dwelling, Banks expressed relief that most of her most cherished memorabilia had been relocated to her other residences. “There were some mementoes that we lost but, yeah, it’s tough.”

Banks did not detail which specific blaze claimed her home. CNN has reached out to Banks' representative for remarks.

Numerous wildfires ignited around Los Angeles earlier this month—the Eaton Fire in Altadena northeast of the city, and the Palisades Fire near the coastal Pacific Palisades—devastating tens of thousands of acres and demolishing countless structures.

As of Tuesday, the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner and fire officials reported 27 fatalities. The Southern California region continues to grapple with active fires fueled by severe winds near San Diego on Tuesday.
